Be realistic about timelines

Whether building a new home or remodeling:

Don’t move in early!  It causes everyone heartache.  No matter what your building professional tells you, it will most likely take another month for your home to be ready.

While it can be costly to incur another month of rent or mortgage….It is in your best interest not to rush the finishing touches of your home: The trim carpentry, tile, paint, etc.  are all vital to your final product.  You want these trades to have adequate time to get your home just right.  So often people move in a month too soon and this work is compromised.  It is uncomfortable for you and for the tradespeople trying to get their job done.
