Navigating The Homebuilding Maze
Having a home custom-built can be both an exciting and stressful experience. Fortunately, having the right person on your team to guide you through the homebuilding maze can help shift the focus from the stressful to the exciting elements of building a home. If you are planning to have a new home built, consider three of the reasons why you should let me guide you through the process as your project manager and creative director.
Personal Focus
No two people are exactly alike. Therefore, no two dream homes are exactly the same. Creating a dream home is about focusing on both the needs and wants of the people or person wanting the home. With Eve’s Creations, from the very beginning, the focus is on what you want out of your custom-built home. What elements are essential? What do you absolutely not want in a home? Are you flexible when it comes to things such as the paint color in the kitchen and the bathroom fixtures, or have you already decided exactly what you want? The goal is to create your dream home without making your dream into a nightmare.
One of the keys to making sure your home turns out the way you want is our weekly meetings. These meetings allow us to get to know each other and to discuss how things are going with the progress of your home.
Because the focus should be on your home desires throughout the whole process, I can also help you understand your options. For example, together we can discuss what sort of flooring you want. Do you want hardwood throughout the whole home? Is tiling more your style? Do you want carpeting in some rooms? Maybe you want a mix of flooring. What sort of appliances do you like? How do you envision your master bathroom or other rooms throughout your home? When helping to create a home, it is never about me building my dream home. Throughout the whole process, it is about your home becoming something you can always treasure.
Go-Between
Let’s face it. There are a lot of people who are going to be involved in the process of building your home. It can be stressful to have to meet with each of these groups regularly to make sure things are going according to plan. Plus, while you love the home that is being created, being bogged down by the details of the process can be a bit stressful and confusing. A quality project manager acts as the liaison, meeting with the architect, the contractor, and others on behalf of you, making sure things are going according to plan and reporting back to you on your home’s progress.
Experience
Perhaps one of the most important qualities in a project manager is experience. Lack of experience may cause an otherwise high-quality project manager to feel the stress you are attempting to avoid. Luckily, with over two decades of experience, I have handled an assortment of potential project setbacks, often stopping the setback from delaying the project. I can handle potential weather delays, late materials, and an assortment of other unexpected detours your home construction project may face.
Of course, not every project manager is a perfect fit for every person who is building a home. If you are unsure if we would be a good fit, check out some of the homes we’ve worked on recently. One of the things you are sure to love about the homes we have worked on is the variety. Whether your style fits more with the traditional, you want something that stands out, or your style fits somewhere in the middle, I can help you create a custom-built home to fit your needs.
